When is a Topographic Diagram Required

A topographic diagram is required in many cases related to properties and real estate. It is used in notarial deeds, building permits, legalization of existing structures and procedures related to the Cadastre.

It is usually required when preparing sale or transfer contracts, issuing or revising building permits, as well as in cases of land subdivision or distribution. It is also necessary when correcting cadastral records or when technical documentation of a property is required.

A topographic diagram must be referenced to the national coordinate system EGSA ’87 and accurately represent the location, boundaries and characteristics of the property. Proper surveying ensures the accuracy of official documents and protects the property owner’s rights.
